Having the athletic genes of her mom, Jade Fuentes rose to fame as one of the key players in Eagle Rock High School in California. Her CV will impress any colleges both in the US and most especially here in the Philippines.
And now, one of the most important decisions has to be made. On this historic date of April 14, 2020, Jade Fuentes, has announced her commitment to play for the De La Salle University Lady Spikers. All the way from Los Angeles California, Jade will be bringing her talents to Taft Avenue, Manila.
Jade Fuentes member of the 2019 Eagle Rock Girls Volleyball Championship Team and the CIF L.A. City Section Open Division MVP announced today that she will be attending and play for the De La Salle University Lady Spikers in the Philippines on a full scholarship.
The 5-foot-11 Fuentes, that can pass as a candidate for Binibining Pilipinas announced her decision on Monday, after a high school career that saw her help her team win a city championship.
“So stoked and incredibly blessed to be able to announce that I will be joining the La Salle family in the Philippines,” she said on Instagram.
Fuentes will be eligible to play for La Salle in UAAP Season 83. The 17-year-old is a great boost for the Lady Spikers together with the young core of Jolina dela Cruz, Thea Gagate, Justine Jazareno, and Leila Cruz.
The UAAP board has decided to cancel Season 82 last week following the government’s extension of the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine to April 30 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
