Last April 25, South Korean group BTS’ agency Big Hit Music announced the release of RM (aka Kim Namjoon, BTS Leader) second and new album on the 24th of May.
HYBE, the head company of Big Hit Music has been on the news and media left and right since last week, but not quite the usual as it involves a lawsuit and shareholder immediate meeting because of a planned takeover of one of its subsidiaries, ADOR.
But despite the brawling between its CEOs and stockholders, it would not affect the release of RM’s 2nd full album. Well, it is not a secret that BTS members themselves are also shareholders themselves in HYBE. And not to be humble, everyone knows HYBE was built because of Big Hit, and Big Hit only has 3 talents under them, Lee Hyun, TXT, and BTS.
RM’s album was a breath of fresh air, as Big Hit Music announced that the BTS Leader’s second album, “Right Place, Wrong Person”, will be released with 11 tracks including the unreleased song that he performed during Suga’s D-Day concert in Seoul last year, which titled “Come Back To Me”.
This is the second album of RM since BTS announces hiatus way back in 2022. His 1st solo album, “Indigo” was released last December 2, 2022. It peaked No. 2 on Billboard 200 and it’s single, “Wild Flower” debut at no. 83 on Billboard Hot 100. The album was certified double platinum by the Korea Music Content Association in January 2023 and has sold over 800,000 copies domestically as of July 2023, and over 100,000 units in the US.
Currently, RM together with his BTS members is serving their mandatory service and is expected to come back in June 2025. Just a month ago, another BTS member released an album, with J-Hope releasing also his second album since the hiatus announcement. Both RM and J-Hope have already released a mixtape way back in 2018, but it was only for digital release, and no physical albums were sold. While Suga, aka AGUSTD, already released 2 mixtapes since 2016. It is known to everyone that way before their enlistment, all 7 members had prepared a lot of content and an album for their almost 3 years of absence.
The famous septet is expected to release new content for its 11th Anniversary next month, together with counting the days to the military discharge of their eldest member, Kim Seokjin on June 12, 2024. What a pile of good news for ARMYs around the world and congratulations to RM in advance!
Right Place, Wrong Person this May 24, 2024.
