Lili Reinhart has transformed her press tour for The Love Hypothesis into a nostalgic celebration of some of the most memorable fashion moments in romantic movies.
Working with stylist Ib Abdel Nasser, the actress stepped away from conventional promotional dressing and instead drew inspiration from beloved films, recreating or paying homage to iconic looks worn by actresses including Kate Hudson, Drew Barrymore, Keira Knightley, Jennifer Garner, Sandra Bullock and the late Brittany Murphy.
The fashion journey began with a vintage Caché silk backless yellow dress inspired by Kate Hudson’s unforgettable Carolina Herrera gown from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003). Reinhart completed the look with a loose low bun and face-framing strands, while also referencing the film in her Instagram caption.
For the Germany leg of the tour, Reinhart channeled Drew Barrymore’s fairytale look from Ever After: A Cinderella Story (1998). Her silver-beaded Rodarte gown echoed the empire-cut, shoulder-baring silhouette of Barrymore’s costume in the beloved period romance.
Reinhart also revisited one of cinema’s most recognizable fashion moments with a custom emerald green Tory Burch gown inspired by Keira Knightley’s iconic dress from Atonement (2007). The tribute went beyond the outfit itself, with Reinhart photographed in a library setting reminiscent of the film’s famous scene.
The actress then embraced the playful spirit of 13 Going on 30 (2004), wearing an archival polka-dot Nanette Lepore coat over a Fleur du Mal lace slip. The look referenced Jennifer Garner’s Jenna Rink, arriving shortly after Reinhart celebrated her own 30th birthday.
For another memorable tribute, Reinhart stepped into a custom lavender Hervé Léger bandage dress inspired by Sandra Bullock’s makeover look in Miss Congeniality. She completed the reference with oversized sunglasses and heels, prompting Bullock herself to leave a playful comment on Reinhart’s social media post.
Reinhart also paid tribute to Brittany Murphy’s Molly Gunn from Uptown Girls (2003), wearing a vintage Blumarine Spring/Summer 2002 sequined floral dress sourced through vintage archive Rebe Archive. Her sleek, side-swept hairstyle further echoed Murphy’s original look.
Rather than simply promoting The Love Hypothesis, Reinhart and Nasser used fashion to celebrate the romantic films and screen heroines that have influenced pop culture.
