Ten German companies are interested in collaborating with local companies to explore water-related business prospects.
The German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) said the German companies looking to explore partnerships and opportunities in the country’s water sector are part of a business delegation under the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy’s Foreign Market Entry Program for Small and Medium Enterprises.
The delegation is made up of a German corporation called Beulco GmbH & Co. Among the firms engaged are Kg, Continental Industrie GmbH, Enexio Water Technologies GmbH, GEH-Wasserchemie, Martin Systems GmbH, Neutralox Umwelttechnik GmbH, PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH, and WILO.
It was created in collaboration with the German Water Partnership, a consortium of companies, organizations, and organizations that deal with water.
A virtual conference on water technology hosted by GPCCI for German firms drew over 150 attendees from the Philippines.
In spite of the outbreak, the GPCCI’s executive director, Christopher Zimmer, said, “This business trip indicates that German firms are seeking new market opportunities and partners and are eager to develop partnerships.”
He said there is significant interest from the Philippine counterparts given the turnout of attendees during the conference.
“We hope that these collaborations will contribute to the country’s economic recovery, particularly in the field of water management, which is one of our most valuable resources, using cutting-edge German technologies,” he added.
“The Philippines is still having water challenges, and there is a need to seek more chances to generate solutions,” said Undersecretary Jim Sampulna of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
He also stressed the need to put money into research, data collection, and information exchange.
In the Philippines, the GPCCI is the official representative of German companies.
GPCCI, which has roughly 300 members, assists businesses in establishing and expanding their markets.
