Manila Mayor Isko Moreno revealed that he will be prioritizing tourism and small-scale businesses revival if elected president in 2022.
He added that he will strengthen tourism circuits or link tourism sites with similar characteristics such as food and heritage. This project aims to triple foreign tourists within 9 years from 8 million in 2019 to 24 million in 2028. Moreno revealed this during his visit to Moalboal, Cebu
He strengthened his proposition by suggesting that local government units use the Internal Revenue Allotment as he did in Manila through creative financial engineering. He added to using the additional money to also prioritize building more houses, schools, and hospitals which in turn would provide jobs for many people. Isko was welcomed in Cebu by Cebu 3rd District Rep Pablo John Garcia who also praised his proposition and called it brilliant and doable.
