PASIG CITY, PHILIPPINES — Universal Robina Corporation (URC) Flour brought its Sugod Bakery Caravan to Tanghalang Pasigueño on October 27 and 28, marking the final stop of its 2026 nationwide initiative to support Filipino bakers through practical learning opportunities.
The Pasig leg followed earlier stops in Lucban and Sariaya in Quezon Province, Davao City, Cagayan de Oro City, Naga City, and Zamboanga City. At each stop, the caravan focused on sharing baking knowledge and celebrating the contributions of local bakers to their communities.

At the center of the Pasig activities was URC Flour’s Mobile Bakery Van, which served as a venue for baking demonstrations and exchanges of practical techniques. Participants learned various baking techniques that they could apply to their own bakery businesses.

The program also highlighted important considerations for bakery owners, including product costing, responsible ingredient use, waste reduction, and proper food-handling practices.
In partnership with the City Government of Pasig, the caravan aimed to make practical baking knowledge more accessible to local bakeshop owners, neighborhood panaderias, and aspiring entrepreneurs.

The Pasig stop also led into BIDA SA MASA 2026, a separate nationwide baking competition held in November at Baker John Academy in Pasig City.
With the successful conclusion of the 2026 Sugod Bakery Caravan, URC Flour reaffirmed its commitment to helping Filipino bakers strengthen their skills and build sustainable local baking businesses.
