Chinese smart electric vehicle pioneer XPENG has officially launched its business operations in the Philippines, signaling a major leap forward for the local automotive landscape. Marking its first direct subsidiary in Southeast Asia, the brand debuted a lineup focused heavily on artificial intelligence, intelligent driving architecture, and versatile electric powertrains.

The entry brings six distinct vehicle variants to the local market, led by the ultra-intelligent X9 electric MPV and the versatile L03 crossover lineup. Rather than positioning itself solely around traditional electric motoring, XPENG is centering its Philippine strategy on AI-powered mobility. The company’s proprietary intelligent driving systems and dedicated processing units allow these vehicles to learn, adapt, and streamline driver interaction, offering local motorists a forward-looking driving experience.

Among the highlights introduced for Filipino consumers are pure battery electric setups as well as extended-range electric vehicle options designed to address long-distance travel across the country. The extended-range powertrain incorporates an onboard generator system capable of delivering over 1,000 kilometers of combined range, effectively eliminating range anxiety for regional road trips.

With customer deliveries set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, XPENG is backing its high-tech rollout with comprehensive ownership programs and an expanding regional dealer network. By combining futuristic AI capabilities with practical electric driving solutions, the brand aims to establish a strong foothold in the rapidly growing Philippine EV market.
