Toyota Motor Philippines School of Technology (TMP Tech) student David Kryzjan Escobar emerged as the country’s top young automotive technician after clinching the gold medal at the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026 competition. Competing in the highly rigorous Automobile Technology category, the 20-year-old technician demonstrated technical expertise across complex diagnostic, maintenance, and repair challenges.

Escobar’s victory capped a sweep for TMP Tech across provincial, regional, and national levels of the WorldSkills competition series. Under the guidance of master instructors, his standout performance in the national finals also earned critical points for Region IV-A (Calabarzon), contributing to the region’s 17-medal haul and securing its overall championship title at the skills competition.

Following his national win, Escobar officially joins the Philippine national delegation to represent the country at the upcoming WorldSkills ASEAN Competition in 2027. His preparation reflects TMP Tech’s industry-driven curriculum, which equips students with practical knowledge covering both conventional internal combustion engines and advanced electrified vehicle systems.

The triumph highlights TMP Tech’s ongoing role in building a competitive global pipeline for skilled automotive professionals. By consistently producing top-tier technicians capable of meeting international standards, the Santa Rosa-based institution continues to strengthen workforce development for Toyota’s local dealer network and overseas global affiliates.
