Las Piñas City Rep. Camille Villar, alongside Sens. Cynthia and Mark Villar, officially launched the second edition of the Villar Cup—a sports initiative aimed at enhancing the well-being of Las Piñas residents while fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship among the youth.
“Isang espesyal na okasyon ang Villar Cup na nagdadala ng kasiyahan at pag-asa sa ating mga puso… Isa sa mga paraan ang sports upang mapanatili natin ang ating kabutihan sa lahat ng aspeto ng buhay,” expressed Rep. Camille during the opening ceremony, emphasizing the event’s role in spreading joy and hope.
Rep. Villar expressed gratitude to volleyball stars Deanna Wong, Aby Maraño, Ara Galang, and Beau Belga for gracing the opening ceremonies. She commended them for serving as excellent role models for the youth.
Children and young adults aged 12 to 25 from 20 barangays actively participated in basketball and volleyball contests. The sports activities aim to engage the youth in healthy competition while promoting an active lifestyle.Following the opening ceremonies, elimination games are underway across Las Piñas courts, leading up to the grand championship at the Villar Coliseum. The tournament provides a platform for showcasing talent and sportsmanship among the local youth.
Now in its second year, the Villar Cup has evolved into one of the most anticipated activities for Las Piñas residents. The event not only promotes physical well-being but also strengthens community bonds through shared sportsmanship and teamwork.
