MANILA, Philippines — Justin Brownlee delivered one of the greatest performances of his PBA career, exploding for a career-high 54 points as Barangay Ginebra outlasted TNT Tropang 5G, 100-95, in overtime to seize a crucial 3-2 lead in the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup Finals.
With the championship series tied at two games apiece entering Game 5, Brownlee took matters into his own hands and carried the Gin Kings through a tense battle at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. His scoring barrage helped Ginebra erase a late deficit and force overtime before the crowd favorites completed the comeback to move within one victory of the title.

Brownlee’s 54-point eruption marked the highest scoring output of his PBA career and came at the most critical stage of the season. The veteran import repeatedly answered TNT’s runs and delivered key baskets down the stretch to keep Ginebra’s championship hopes alive.
The victory also serves as a step toward redemption for the Gin Kings, who fell to TNT in their previous Finals encounters. With momentum now on their side, Ginebra has a chance to complete its revenge bid and capture the Commissioner’s Cup crown in Game 6.
However, TNT is far from conceding the series.

The Tropang 5G, seeking to defend their title, will look to regroup and force a winner-take-all Game 7 when the two teams meet again. TNT has shown resilience throughout the Finals and remains confident it can extend the championship showdown despite facing elimination.
As the longtime rivals prepare for another chapter in their storied rivalry, all eyes will be on whether Ginebra can finish the job or if TNT can keep its title defense alive and send the series to a decisive seventh game.
