Health Undersecretary Eric Domingo, who is currently FDA Officer-in-Charge, said that there is nothing to worry about as long as the brands mentioned comply with the rules, especially Reno liver spread, which has been in market even before the FDA was established.
The FDA said it verified through online monitoring or post marketing surveillance that there were no certificates of product registration issued for the aforementioned products, pursuant to Republic Act No. 9711 or the Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009.
The FDA warned establishments from distributing, advertising, or selling the food products and supplements until a registration certificate is issued accordingly. The FDA said it cannot assure the products’ “quality and safety.” Sanctions and regulatory actions will also be pursued by the FDA if these brands fail to comply, it said.
The FDA further advised the public to check if a product is registered with the agency through the search feature on its website.
