PASIG CITY, PHILIPPINES — Universal Robina Corporation (URC) Flour representatives met with the Pasig City government during a courtesy call on October 27, ahead of the final leg of the Sugod Bakery Caravan. The meeting highlighted their shared commitment to supporting neighborhood bakers and small bakery businesses through practical skills development.
The courtesy call brought together Mr. Al Edralin, Executive Assistant V and Head of the Pasig City Skills Development Office, and Ma. Lilia Andres, URC Flour Marketing Manager. The engagement underscored the partnership’s goal of bringing practical baking knowledge closer to local communities through baking demonstrations and discussions that helped participants learn and improve their baking techniques.

The main caravan activities took place on October 27 and 28, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at Tanghalang Pasigueño in Pasig City. The courtesy call was held separately at 11:00 AM on October 27.
The Pasig leg followed previous caravan stops in Lucban, Sariaya, Davao City, Cagayan de Oro City, Naga City, and Zamboanga City.
The nationwide initiative aimed to help local bakers enhance their skills while supporting the small businesses that served their respective communities.

URC Flour and the Pasig City government shared a common interest in creating meaningful learning opportunities for local bakers and aspiring entrepreneurs.
The courtesy call also provided an opportunity to recognize the partnership ahead of the two-day caravan activities.
The Pasig event also preceded BIDA SA MASA 2026, a separate nationwide baking competition held in November at Baker John Academy in Pasig City.

Through the Sugod Bakery Caravan, URC Flour continued to highlight the importance of practical baking skills, community partnerships, and livelihood development.
