Angat Buhay Foundation, the non-government organization launched by former vice president Leni Robredo, has lead the relief operation for the flood victims of Super Typhoon Carina last July 24. Upon posting of their collaboration with conduit organization, Tanging Yaman Foundation Inc, hundreds of volunteers has actively participated to offer their help while others who can’t, choose to donate online.
Angat Buhay Foundation is present to more than 10 locations to prepare hot meals and relief goods to evacuees that has been greatly affected by the left and right flooding around Metro Manila and provinces. The post from VP Leni has been shared throughout the social media, and it easily spread nationwide, then that’s when Bayanihan happens.
At night of the 24th, the team has already distributed hot meals and relief goods to 189 families in Taytay, Rizal. Then another team has lead the distribution in 258 individuals in Tumana, Marikina and 218 in Parañaque City.
Millions of personal donation has come as reported on their Twitter Page “@angatbuhay_ph” for the relief goods to be given to different locations like Valenzuela, Marikina, Cavite and Pasig City whom 278 individuals has been helped.
As of today, the amount of donations has reached P 2,766,690.19 total amount raised by volunteer group and value of in-kind donations while there’s P 4,715,147.42 for Tanging Yaman Foundation Inc. Through this collaboration, they’ve already helped 37,270 families and individuals with their 693 volunteers.
Angat Buhay Foundation also reactivated its Bayanihan E-Konsulta which started way back 2020 for Covid-19 online consultation. Bayanihan E-Konsulta is back to help victims of typhoon that are no capabilities to go to the hospital. Through this, volunteer doctors lead by Dr. Tricia Robredo, VP Leni’s daughter, has been assigned to different location nationwide to reach families that are needing free check-up and medicines.
Through this teleconsult service, they’ve already reached 306 patients and registered 722 patients to Bayanihan E-Konsulta. They also gaved hygiene kits and medicines to 37, 720 families. The team has been to several barangays in Marikina, Taytay, San Mateo and Quezon City.
The foundation is still accepting donation through GCash and online banking. They are also calling for more volunteers to help in distributing relief goods, cooking hot meals and also to assist their E-Konsulta free check-up.
