MANILA, Philippines — Viva One is ushering in a new era for “The Nation’s Mutya,” Ashtine Olviga, as she officially breaks away from her established love-team roots to headline her own solo flagship project.
During a Grand Media Conference held today, the streaming giant unveiled “Viva One Originals: Ashtine,” a high-stakes anthology series designed to showcase Olviga’s range beyond the teen drama genre. The series is set to premiere globally on March 13.
Moving past her breakout success in Ang Mutya ng Section E, Olviga is tackling four distinct, stand-alone stories that span the emotional spectrum. This “solo-branded” venture is being described by Viva One as a career-defining moment for the rising star.
The anthology features four specific titles:
- Who’s The Boss? (Comedy)
- My Melody (Romance)
- Balik-Eskwela (Horror)
- Bahay-bahayan (Family Drama)
To add further weight to her solo debut, the series will feature guest appearances by industry icons Rufa Mae Quinto and Claudine Barretto, lending veteran star power to the comedy and drama segments respectively.
The announcement comes amid heavy speculation regarding the status of the popular #AshDres love team. While her previous work relied heavily on her chemistry with Andres Muhlach, this anthology signals a shift toward Olviga’s “independent ascent” in the industry.
