Pasig City, Philippines – The search for the next generation of Filipino baker-entrepreneurs culminates as Universal Robina Corporation (URC) Flour’s “Bida sa Masa 2025: Be the Next Bakerpreneur” holds its highly anticipated championship round from August 26-28, 2025, at the state-of-the-art Baker John Academy in Quezon City.
Finalists from Pasig City, Sariaya Quezon and Davao City will face off in a final showdown of skill, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit. The finalists, divided into two categories—Home Baker and Pro Baker.


Davao City will be represented by Shallimar P. Dicen and her Coco Tart in the Home Baker Category while for the Pro Baker division, it will be Ralph Gio Gerapusco serving his Savory Moringa Bread recipe.


For Sariaya, Quezon, Jennicah Dwein A. Casiño from the Home Baker category with her Sapin-Sapin Fiesta Swiss Roll with Bukayo Filling and Pro Baker Maelyn Mendoza and her Tofu and Chicken Pastil Braided Buns creation will represent the South.


Lastly, it will be Home Baker, Carol Llabres with her Pie de Marikeño: Everlasting Edition and Pro Baker Maricris, Lustre Montero and her Kreamy Kesong Puti Broccoli Bread baked goods will be the proud bakers from Pasig. City.
The championship will challenge the finalists to create a signature baked good that not only showcases their mastery of baking but also their unique business vision. The competition is the final stage of URC Flour’s flagship initiative, which aims to empower aspiring bakers and contribute to economic growth in local communities.

The three-day event will bring together the top finalists from regional competitions who have proven their mastery of baking skills and entrepreneurial know-how. This year’s competition, which has drawn over 80 participants, aims to not only test their technical skills but also their business acumen, a core focus of the program.
“We understand that for many, baking is not just a hobby—it’s a path to a better life, a means to provide for their families, and a way to build a legacy. The grand champion will take home a total of ₱100,000, which includes a ₱70,000 cash prize and ₱30,000 worth of baking equipment and URC flour products. Finalists from the regional legs will also be recognized with a ₱30,000 consolation prize.
Since its launch, the “Bida sa Masa” program has been a testament to URC Flour’s commitment to supporting the local baking industry. The championship round promises to be a vibrant and delicious showcase of Filipino talent and creativity.

At the end of the event, Maelyn Mendoza of Sariaya, Quezon (Pro Baker) and Carol Llabres of Pasig City (Home Baker) wowed and impressed the judges with their pastry creations at the grand finals of URC Flour’s Bida sa Masa 2025 at Baker John Academy, Quezon City. They were hailed as this year’s Bida sa Masa Bakerpreneur Champions.
