Pangasinan, renowned for bagoong, patis, and salt, is now set to showcase its diverse artisanal talents on the international stage. Governor Ramon V. Guico III believes in transcending the province beyond salt production, focusing on economic expansion and the potential of its people. The province aims to be an industrial hub, attracting global investors through economic expansion zones. In a strategic move to support inclusive growth, the province recognizes the crucial role of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and has launched initiatives like the Artisan Empowerment Association (AEA).
Led by Arlyn Guico and entrepreneur Rosemarie Oamil, the AEA under the ABOUND project empowers budding artisans and entrepreneurs with mentorship and training programs. Governor Guico, with his mother’s support, has selected 10 MSMEs to represent Pangasinan at the prestigious Manila FAME from October 19 to 21 at the World Trade Center.
