The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) will hold a national conference on the Philippine flag and open an exhibit featuring the flags and coats of arms of ASEAN’s 11 member states on November 10, 2026, at its Central Office in Ermita, Manila.
The exhibit will open at 9 a.m., followed by the conference at 10 a.m. at the NHCP Multi-Purpose Hall on the fourth floor. Both activities are free.

The conference will examine the Philippine flag through the perspectives of history, science, and regulations. The accompanying exhibit will explore how flags and coats of arms express national identity across Southeast Asia.
The activities are aligned with the ASEAN Summit in November and the NHCP’s Dekada ng Kasaysayan theme for 2026, “Year of Philippine Diplomatic History and Diaspora.” Together, they aim to deepen public understanding of national symbols and their place in the region’s historical and diplomatic ties.

The NHCP is the government agency mandated to promote and preserve Philippine history and heritage. Its work includes historical research and publication, heraldry, the administration of national shrines and museums, and the conservation, preservation, and marking of historic sites and structures.
