MANILA, Philippines — Filipino girl group BINI amplified their global breakthrough after delivering a more electrifying performance during Weekend 2 of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, drawing a significantly larger crowd and sparking an even stronger wave of Filipino pride.
Returning to the Mojave Tent following their historic debut the previous weekend, the eight-member P-pop act performed to a packed audience that spilled beyond the venue, with fans waving Philippine flags and proudly chanting along to their songs. Their second set built on the momentum of their first appearance, which already marked a milestone as one of the few Filipino acts—and the first P-pop group—to perform at Coachella.

BINI opened their Weekend 2 performance with a high-energy rendition of “Strings,” switching things up from their initial setlist and immediately igniting the crowd. The group also showcased a refreshed concept, donning shimmering dark outerwear before revealing coordinated lavender-pink outfits, drawing loud cheers from festivalgoers.
“Coachella, make some noise! That’s the energy we needed,” leader Jhoanna told the audience, setting the tone for a lively and engaging set that highlighted the group’s signature blend of synchronized choreography, strong vocals, and crowd interaction.

One of the standout moments came when the members introduced themselves using different Filipino dialects, representing their respective hometowns. The gesture resonated deeply with the audience, turning the performance into a cultural showcase that celebrated the Philippines’ linguistic diversity. Fans responded with visible enthusiasm, waving flags and handkerchiefs as the desert stage transformed into a sea of Filipino pride.

The group’s growing international appeal was also evident online. Their first-weekend performance generated massive traction on livestream platforms, drawing viewership numbers that rivaled global artists such as Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G. Their even larger Weekend 2 turnout further solidified their rising status on the global music scene.
BINI’s Coachella stint has since been widely hailed as a defining moment for P-pop. Fans and industry observers alike view the group’s success as a sign of the Philippine music industry’s growing presence on the international stage, with many praising their ability to represent Filipino talent, culture, and artistry before a global audience.
As the group continues to gain traction worldwide, their Coachella performances stand as a landmark achievement—not only for BINI, but for Filipino music as a whole.
