The Michael Jackson biopic Michael has reclaimed the top spot at the North American box office during its fourth weekend in theaters, continuing its strong run worldwide and inching closer to becoming the highest-grossing music biopic of all time.
According to studio estimates, the film earned around $26.1 million during the weekend, pushing its global earnings to over $703 million. The movie overtook The Devil Wears Prada 2 after trailing behind the sequel for two consecutive weeks.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the film chronicles the life and career of the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, from his early years to his rise as one of the most influential entertainers in music history.
Industry analysts noted that the movie is now approaching the worldwide box office record set by Bohemian Rhapsody, which earned more than $910 million globally and currently holds the title as the biggest music biopic ever released.

Reports also showed that the renewed popularity of the film has reignited interest in Jackson’s music catalog. His iconic album Thriller reportedly returned to the Billboard 200 chart, while the hit song Billie Jean re-entered the Hot 100 rankings.
Despite mixed reviews from critics, audiences continue to support the film, helping it maintain strong ticket sales weeks after its release. Entertainment analysts said nostalgia-driven films and legacy artists remain a major draw for moviegoers in 2026.
