Pop superstar Taylor Swift set another record last February 5, 2024, after winning the Grammy award for album of the year for an unprecedented fourth time as women dominated the music industry’s top honors. Swift also announced from the stage that she would release a new album titled “The Tortured Poets Department“, which was set to be released this week, April 19, 2024 .
During her 2024 Grammy Awards speech, Swift said, “I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years,” Swift said as she disclosed the new album, which was made available for pre-sales during the Grammys telecast.
On March 31, 2024, almost 3 weeks before her album release, Apple Music released a new game on the streaming platform to commemorate April 13 — the number associated with Taylor Swift— to tease her 11th era that will be released overnight Thursday when the clock strikes midnight eastern time.
Fans can search for a word a day in the lyrics throughout one of her five new playlist. The full message will be revealed on April 18. And like with her custom voice memos on the platform, Swift is in on the action.
Swift’s latest album, will be released on vinyl, cassette, CD and digital. Fans will get a chance to listen to Swift’s album on Spotify and Apple Music when it comes out. Spotify has reportedly been gearing up for the release after fan traffic crashed the site in October 2022 following the release of Swift’s Midnights.
Just this week, Taylor Swift fans went into a frenzy Wednesday over alleged leaks from her forthcoming album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” which is set to be released Friday. According to The Daily Mail, the snippets were allegedly taken from a Google Drive link, which contained 17 different songs. Swift, 34, previously confirmed that her 11th studio album would contain that number of tracks.
Fans of the Grammy winner were divided over whether the songs were real or created from artificial intelligence. Others urged the real Swifties to report the leaks and not listen to them.
