Global Esports is closing its competitive esports chapter just weeks after securing its first VCT Pacific championship, with the organization shifting its focus to an AI-powered venture called GE Studios.
Founder and CEO Dr. Rushindra Sinha announced the decision on October 19, bringing an end to GE’s VALORANT operations and releasing its roster into free agency, according to esports outlet TalkEsport.
The announcement follows a breakthrough season for the Indian organization. On September 6, GE completed a dramatic 3–2 reverse sweep against Nongshim RedForce in Busan, South Korea, to claim the VCT Pacific Stage 2 championship. The victory marked its first VCT trophy and sent the team to VALORANT Champions Shanghai as Pacific’s top seed.
Its Champions campaign ended in the group stage after a deciding-match loss to LOUD, closing what would become the organization’s final competitive season.
Despite the timing, Sinha said the decision had been under consideration long before the team’s championship run. According to VLR.gg’s account of his announcement, GE had informed Riot Games in late 2025 that 2026 would likely be its last year in esports.
Sinha said the organization explored ways to keep its successful roster together but concluded that maintaining an entire company solely around the team was unsustainable. He also emphasized allowing players to pursue other opportunities as GE moves toward its next business chapter.

For Filipino fans, GE’s departure also puts the spotlight on Patrick “PatMen” Mendoza and Xavier “xavi8k” Juan. Both players now enter free agency after helping deliver the organization’s maiden Pacific championship and representing it at Champions Shanghai.
The duo’s contributions to GE’s title-winning campaign gave Filipino supporters another reason to celebrate, with homegrown talent helping the team overcome a two-map deficit against Nongshim RedForce on one of the region’s biggest stages.
For PatMen, the victory carried a personal significance. In a September interview with Filipino media, he reflected on the sacrifices behind the team’s success and expressed confidence in xavi8k’s ability to close crucial rounds. His account offered a glimpse of the trust between the teammates during their championship run.
GE’s withdrawal now leaves the pair facing a new offseason, with their next destinations still unconfirmed in the reports reviewed as of October 19. Whether they remain teammates or pursue separate opportunities, they leave the organization with a shared Pacific title and international experience to bring into their next competitive chapter.
