“We recognize that Filipino hospitality is one of the greatest strengths of Philippine tourism that could enhance the overall tourist experience and strategically position the Philippines as a center of hospitality excellence in Asia.” – Tourism Secretary, Christina Garcia Frasco
The Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) has taught to 43,813 people, according to a report from the Department of Tourism (DoT), putting it one step closer to its goal of having 100,000 people trained by 2023.
According to Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, “We recognize that Filipino hospitality is one of the greatest strengths of Philippine tourism that could enhance the overall tourist experience and strategically position the Philippines as a center for hospitality excellence in Asia.”
With this, she claimed, “we are able to showcase the best of Filipino hospitality to both domestic and foreign tourists.”
With 6,376 trainees, Region 4A (Calabarzon) had the most trainees, followed by Region 11 (Davao), Region 3 (Central Luzon), Region 4B (Mimaropa), and the National Capital Region (3,742).
The DoT ensured that its training initiatives are designed to give all tourism frontline workers—including those with disabilities—a solid grounding in how to offer exceptional services to tourists in the Filipino manner.
