The event, which showcases runners in vibrant costumes and features live music, is part of one of the world’s biggest running series organized by IRONMAN and is held annually in various countries. The Philippines was the first Southeast Asian country to host the event in 2022. IRONMAN Philippines founder and Ambassador Fred Uytengsu stated that they were pleased to have the Asics Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon series presented by AIA vitality back in Manila and that they were aiming to make it even bigger in 2023. The event has a range of activities lined up, including training runs with seasoned runners and a medal and route showcase in the lead-up to the race night at Rizal Park on November 26. The Manila Police District will collaborate closely with the organizers to ensure the safety of both runners and spectators.
Four races are scheduled to take place at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Series Manila event, which is expected to attract more than 5,000 runners. The marathon will start at midnight on November 26 in front of Rizal Park and will feature a route that showcases some of the city’s historic landmarks, such as the National Museum, Manila City Hall, Kartilya ng Katipunan, and Intramuros.
