The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) received a fleet of brand-new fire vehicles from Hino Motors Philippines (HMP) on June 3 at a ceremony held at the HMP headquarters in Calamba, Laguna.
Vicente Mills, Jr., the chairman of the HMP, and President Mitsuharu Tabata presented the cars to BFP officers under the direction of Chief Supt. Roel Jeremy Diaz. The heads of F are also present for the ceremony. Hanseo Precision Industry, Co. and Cura Industries. Ltd., a company that collaborated with Hino to supply the fire vehicle body and unique equipment.
The first batch of the 61 units that were purchased from Hino and will be distributed to various LGUs around the country consists of 15 units.
These fire trucks have Hanseo Korean-built bodywork mounted on a FG8J chassis, and they are powered by Hino J08E Euro 4 direct injection, electronic control common rail diesel engines that provide 240 HP and 716 Nm of torque.
“Hino Motors is happy to have played a part in updating the fire vehicles in our BFP fleet. A fire truck requires the highest level of dependability, in contrast to the typical vehicle standards for business or commercial use. Compromise is not an option when lives are on the line. We just must do the task.” Being picked as BFP’s partner for this endeavor is the ultimate honor for Hino, according to HMP President Tabata.
