The Philippine literary community is gearing up for the return of the Philippine Book Festival (PBF) 2026, which aims to spotlight Filipino authors, illustrators, and publishers while promoting local stories to a broader audience.
Organized by the National Book Development Board (NBDB), the festival will run from March 12 to 15, 2026 at the Megatrade Hall of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City. The event serves as the country’s largest marketplace dedicated exclusively to Filipino-authored books and publications.
This year’s festival carries the theme “Gubat ng Karunungan” (Rainforest of Knowledge), a concept that reflects the diversity and richness of Filipino storytelling. The theme envisions the local literary landscape as a thriving ecosystem where various genres—from children’s literature and comics to academic and contemporary works—grow and connect with readers.
A platform for Filipino writers and publishers
Since its launch, the Philippine Book Festival has been positioned as a national initiative to expand access to quality and affordable Filipino-authored books while supporting the growth of the country’s publishing industry.
