Starting today, ABS-CBN programs are once again accessible on free television as the Kapamilya Channel officially airs on Channel 2 through ALLTV, marking a significant milestone for the media giant’s continued resurgence.
The return follows a newly signed licensing agreement between Advanced Media Broadcasting System (AMBS), the owner of ALLTV, and ABS-CBN Corporation. Under the agreement, selected ABS-CBN programs are now broadcast on ALLTV nationwide, allowing Filipino viewers to watch Kapamilya content for free beginning January 2.

ALLTV secures the broadcast rights to air a lineup of ABS-CBN entertainment, news, and public service programs, expanding its programming slate while reintroducing ABS-CBN shows to traditional free-to-air television. The move signals a strategic partnership between the two media companies and strengthens ALLTV’s position in the competitive broadcast industry.
For ABS-CBN, the development represents another step forward after years of adapting to digital platforms, cable television, and content partnerships following the shutdown of its free TV operations in 2020. Despite the challenges brought by the non-renewal of its broadcast franchise under the past administration, ABS-CBN continues to expand its reach across multiple platforms.

The presence of ABS-CBN content once again on free TV underscores the company’s resilience and staying power. While previous efforts sought to bring down the network, today’s development shows that ABS-CBN is not only thriving but has effectively found its way back to free television—something that cannot be said for others who attempted to take its place.
As Kapamilya programs return to Channel 2 screens across the country, viewers are welcomed back to familiar shows, reaffirming ABS-CBN’s enduring influence in Philippine media and broadcasting.
