Ministop is changing its name to Uncle John’s, and unless you’ve been living under a rock, you presumably already know this. As rebrands go, there will be a ton of new stuff for you to try and anticipate. The company today unveiled a brand-new logo, and it appears that Ministop will no longer use its distinctive primary color combination of red, blue, and yellow
The official Uncle John’s logo is here to greet you:
How awesome is this new branding? Following are some essential details regarding Uncle John’s:Pampanga is home to the first Ministop to feature the official Uncle John’s signage.
So, yes, if you ever find yourself in Pampanga, check out the newest Uncle John’s location and pick yourself a bucket of his amazing fried chicken while you’re there!
By January 2023, all Ministop locations will change to Uncle John’s.
Since the rebranding is planned for the fourth quarter of this year, more Ministop stores should transition to Uncle John’s signs in the upcoming months. The name “Uncle John’s” will appear on all Ministop brand elements and collateral by the beginning of the next year, which is exciting!
The legend around “Uncle John’s”
Uncle John’s pays tribute to the late John L. Gokongwei, Jr., the founder of the Gokongwei Group, as well as to the well-known Uncle John’s fried chicken. But here is how the choice really came to be made: In April, Ministop conducted the #ReadySetName competition, in which participants were invited to suggest names for a new Ministop banner. The winning submission, “Uncle John’s,” was chosen from among more than 80,000 others. The winner contestant earned Robinsons E-Gift cards worth P50,000 in addition to bragging rights for coming up with Ministop’s new moniker.
Other potential names included…
Minigo, Bigstop, Mini Mart, One Stop, Go Mart, Robinstop, Minishop, Quick Stop, Stop Over, Stop N’ Go, Stop N’ Shop, and Big Go are all examples of short forms of these words.
There won’t be a closing of Uncle John’s Fried Chicken.
Fans of Uncle John’s Fried Chicken were alarmed to hear that Ministop was changing its name, but they need not worry—the popular fried chicken is (obviously) here to stay. You’re missing out if you haven’t tried it yet, so if you haven’t, use this as a cue to order a bucket right away!
Your preferred Kariman will remain.
The Kariman fried bread with a variety of delectable fillings, another Ministop-now-Uncle John’s favorite, will remain on the menu. You can still enjoy your favorite Shawarma Kariman, Tuna Melt Kariman, Ham and Cheese Kariman, Chicken Ala King Kariman, Choco Kariman, and more tastes, so don’t worry.
Be prepared for novel and varied product offerings.
There will be more food items for you to explore, which is another reason to be happy. Even if all you find is your new favorite lunch, work break, or merienda.
