Herlene Nicole Budol or also known as “Hipon” broke the stereotypes after answering in the Filipino language the ´q and a portion of the previously held Coronation Night of Binibining Pilipinas 2022 pageant.
Hipon was first seen as she joined last May 2019 on “Wil of Fortune”, a popular game segment of Wowowin hosted by Willie Revillame. She gained instant popularity and catches the attention of the local viewers because of her natural humor and jolly personality.
“Hindi ako sure”, Herlene answered when Willie ask her if she is sexy.
“Sabi nila, seksi ka lang. Shrimp nga ang tawag nila sa akin.Di ba, kapag kakain ka ng hipon, tatanggalin mo yung ulo, kakainin mo yung katawan?” she explained.
Because of her answer, people started to call her Hipon, and became popular with that name. Later on, she also became a Co-Host in that same program.
But just recently, she became the topic of social media as she joined the Binibining Pilipinas 2022. She gained more supporters and many Filipino rooted for her to win the title. Last July 31, 2022, the Coronation Night of Binibining Pilipinas 2022 was held and a new set of beauty queens was crowned, including Herlene Hipon.
Herlene Hipon surely was the crowd´s favorite as many people cheered for her in the stadium and netizens extended their support on social media platforms. Hipon did not disappoint her fans and supporter as she gained the most special awards.
But, the highlight of Herlene´s journey in the BBP 2022, is when she answered in ‘Tagalog’ the question asked by Mr. Cecilio Asuncion. This earned applause and attention from Netizens because it also means breaking the stereotype, that only the English language can be used to answer in pageantries.
Herlene Budol may fail to bring home the title crown, but she is very happy and contented with being the 1st runner-up and having the most special awards.
