San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora led the launch of COVID-19 booster shots for senior citizens and persons with comorbidities at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
He said that out of the 1,000 who received their shots were seniors while the remaining 200 were persons with comorbidities.
“We are fast-tracking our vaccine rollout for our citizens so we can all go back to a better normal,” Zamora said.
He said that San Juan wants its residents to feel safe and protected, “especially since we have also started opening up more establishments and people are going out more.”
Zamora said qualified residents are those who were able to receive their receive their second dose at least six months prior are qualified to get their booster shot.
Those who wish to get their booster shot can register with the city’s online vaccination portal and wait for a text message for the confirmation of their schedule.
“This is the lowest number of cases recorded since March 2020, a 97-percent decline from the city’s recorded cases of 1,123 on Sept. 16, 2021,” Zamora added.
