As part of Disney’s Princesses campaign, Maris Racal sang the Filipino version of “Starting Now” and has been titled “Simulan”.
Its music video was released on November 8 where Racal performs the song in both the Filipino and English languages as clips of classic Disney princesses are shown. Racal stated that she hopes that this song would empower young Filipinas and encourage them to dream while being compassionate. She also added in an interview with Star Magic that she was in shock when she found out that she has been chosen for this project.
With this, Racal is now the second Filipina artist to record for Disney following KZ Tandingan who recorded “Gabay” for the animated film Raya and the Last Dragon earlier this year.
