Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) donated a total of P93.22 million to a medical institutions for financial aid. They also allotted P53.22 million for the Armed forces of the Philippines Health Service Command (AFPHSC) for the building of a hallway house at V. Luna Medical Center in Quezon City, which will be used for the families and watchers of the soldiers admitted at the health facility. The five-story building will have a place for a mini bar r convenience store, dining and kitchen, as well as lodgings for the patients’ caregivers.
In addition, PAGCOR gave the University of the Philippines – Los Baños University Health Service P40 million for the refurbishment of the operating room complex and the upgrade of hospital equipment. According to Andrea Domingo, PAGCOR’s Chairwoman and CEO,
The state gaming agency has always demonstrated its commitment to supporting military troops who risk their lives for the security, safety, and welfare of Filipinos. She also emphasized the significance of PAGCOR’s financial support for the UPLB-UHS, noting that the UP System is a source of national pride since it creates numerous leaders in both the public and commercial sectors, as well as contributions to research.
