The music of former Side A frontman Joey Generoso will always be associated to feelings of being in love. That is the mark of his music, and as fans, we only have to be thankful that for the last 30 years, we are fortunate enough to be serenaded by the positive music of Joey G.
This writer happens to be a huge fan of Joey Generoso even when he was still with Side A. In fact, the first ever concert that I watched locally was a Side A Concert in St. Paul Pasig, circa ’98. It was a memorable night with friends and good music, that is why when word got out from my friend Rein Escano that she is doing PR for the upcoming concert of Joey Generoso, I really had to go out of my way and try my luck and see if I can have a special interview with Joey Generoso during his rehearsals at 8th Note Studios in Quezon City. Fortunately, Lady Luck was on our side and we were able to have this special feature.

In this interview with MNLToday.ph, the man with the golden voice shared with us his humble beginnings, his passion about music, his friendship with the one and only Megastar, the importance of his family and of course, his upcoming concert.
At 56 years old, Joey Generoso has a lot to be thankful for both in his career and personal life. And us fans seems to have a charmed life with his music to live by. The beauty and magic of Joey G’s music transcends beyond age and gender. Just by hearing his songs, you will be taken aback to a period where you will feel inspire, motivated and loved.

Joey is set to share the stage with guest performer Sharon Cuneta in his one-night show “Joey G…BEYOND: 3 Decades Of Music” on June 22 at The Theater, Solaire. Joey shared the Megastar is a very dear friend. “Siya ’yung pinakamalapit na nag-support sa akin ever since,” he said. “Dahil kaibigan namin yung director ng show nya before na si Bert de Leon, isang sabi lang namin na baka pwede mag-guest sa show nya, isa lang ang sasabihin nya…”GO”. And to this day, nandun pa din ang support nya sa akin at hindi sya nagpabayad sa show ko na ito” added Joey G.
Always reinventing himself, aside from his hits, the singer will take on even current favorites. “I receive request din kasi for such songs from the audience eh,” he said. “That is why sa BEYOND, I will be singing songs from today’s singers like Bruno Mars and more” added Joey G. Beyond the concert, Joey will be holding tours in US and in Canada in October with singers Morisette and Aiza Seguerra. They will perform with international singer David Pomeranz.
As of this writing, I am very excited and thankful at the same time that I will be watching Joey G.’s concert. And on this special night, I am again ready to fall in love and experience the magic of being in love. And rightfully so, I will be watching JOEY G. with none other than my wife, Lhara.
