Eveready, the country’s number one battery brand, visited Tacloban City for the 7th leg of We Are Eveready Sari-Sari Store Barangay Caravan, giving entrepreneurial tips to sari-sari store owners, as well as big discounts on its battery and flashlight products.
After its successful legs in Taguig, Laguna, Batangas, Pangasinan, Pampanga, and Cavite, the caravan visited Tacloban City for its first leg in the Visayas. Succeeding legs will also happen in Cebu, as well as in the Mindanao area, particularly in Davao and Cagayan de Oro.
“We thought of this activity because we give sari-sari store owners the opportunity to earn more through our battery and flashlight products. With the rainy season coming our products are essential items for households not just for use in appliances but more importantly, to allow them to be prepared for emergency situations,” said Martin Valenzuela, brand activation manager, Eveready Philippines. “We chose Tacloban because of its experience during the time when typhoon Yolanda devastated the city. We want all its residents to always be ready.”

During the caravan, 48 Sari-sari stores participated in various exciting activities such as the Spin-to-Win Roleta game, trivia games, among others. The program also included fun activities with host “Ate Jha Jha” of 94.3 MOR Tacloban.
The highlight of the event was the event was the raffle draw where sari-sari store owner Raymond San Juan of ARL Commercial Supplies in Independencua St. San Juan won a brand new Samsung S7 smartphone.
