State-run pension fund Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has engaged multinational software provider Outsystems to increase the effectiveness of its digital services.
For the GSIS Touch mobile application, the pension fund for government employees and retirees announced a partnership with Outsystems, a world leader in high performance application development.
The GSIS Touch was developed using the OutSystems platform to offer over 2.5 million members and retirees ease of use and accessibility when asking for loans and services.
GSIS was able to enhance its mobile development capabilities thanks to OutSystems.
apps, in particular, outsourcing the creation of the mobile app component of the motor vehicle processing system.
In order to enable the swift and effective creation of the app that would give customers remote and contactless access, OutSystems also supplied GSIS with interface and user experience training.
According to Mark Weaser, the Vice President of OutSystems Asia Pacific, one of the most critical challenges faced by government agencies today is the time it takes to provide a product or service that is both efficient and seamless.
Weaser stated, “As we continue to expand our services and support more Filipino government agencies in their digital transformation initiatives for the coming years, we want to improve business efficiency and minimize operational expenses.
Juan Evangelista, senior vice president of the GSIS information and technology service department, stated that the GSIS Touch is anticipated to be the organization’s next important channel for communication and commerce.
More Filipinos would be able to use its services conveniently without having to travel to government offices thanks to this.
The GSIS Touch mobile application has already gained more than 500,000 registered users, with around 370,000 loan applications processed through the app. In order to further enhance the app’s capabilities, GSIS is currently collaborating with one of its partner banks for the integration of a payment portal for loan payments. Additionally, the GSIS Touch will undergo improvements such as the inclusion of a facial recognition feature, payment portal, and integration with more financial institutions to allow for online loan payment options. The app will also be integrated with the national ID system to enable real-time information validation through facial image verification.
