The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) willl open two more Pasig River ferry stations starting September 28, 2020
The stations in Hulo, Mandaluyong and Sta. Ana, Manila will be open to authorized persons outside residence (APOR) starting tomorrow, the MMDA said.
Only APOR are allowed to ride the ferry service for free under the general community quarantine.
Meanwhile, the following ferry stations will remain open to authorized travelers: Pinagbuhatan and San Joaquin in Pasig; Guadalupe and Valenzuela in Makati; Lawton and Escolta in Manila.
Passengers need to wear face masks and face shields, have their temperature checked and fill up a manifest form and commuter information sheet for contact tracing before boarding the boat, the MMDA said.
The Pasig River Ferry Service is the only water-based transportation in Metro Manila, Philippines that cruises the Pasig River from Pinagbuhatan in Pasig to Intramuros in the City of Manila. With the current updates, this will prepare Metro Manila’s public commuter to utilize the Ferry Service as their alternative means of transportation, that will result in a way to the easing of traffic in the metro.
