The Technology company, Google paid tribute to Filipina author and academic Genoveva Edroza-Matute, best known for her short story “Ang Kuwento ni Mabuti.” Which also been considered as the most anthologized Tagalog language short story.
Genoveva Dizon Edroza-Matute was born in 1915, Manila. She taught at the elementary, high school and university levels as she retired as the dean of the Filipino Department at Philippine Normal College (now Philippine Normal University) in 1980.
- She wrote “Leave-taking” and “Land of the Bitter”, published in the Manila Post Sunday Magazine and in the monthly Manila Post.
- “Eight Years,” “Noche Buena,” “The Story of the Good,” and “Sailing the Heart of a Child”. Her anthology published short stories and essays in “I Am a Voice” in 1952.

- In the Shadow of EDSA and Other Stories and the Voice of Feelings.
- Lastly published with her husband in the Philippine Values in the Books: Stories, Essays, Games in 1992.
Matute is also the creator of the popular radio program and television series, “The Story of the Boys”, in the 50s.
Matute died at the age of 94 in March 2009.
