The country’s classically trained ballet company captivated its audience with the world premiere of Sleeping Beauty, a contemporary take on a timeless masterwork that featured original choreography by Ballet Manila CEO and artistic director Lisa Macuja Elizalde.
This performance was the last installment of her Princess Trilogy. The show was held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila, Pasay City.
Sleeping Beauty is considered to be the biggest and grandest installment of the trilogy. Ballet Manila’s version was shorter from the original and this version introduced new characters such as the Keeper of the Golden Plates and the royal couples from the other installments of the trilogy.
