Have you ever experienced craving hot food after doing some work? Well, this is what I felt after finishing our first interview with a Ganador contest winner at the Office of the Solicitor General.
You see, Sir Air my boss, Pops my colleague, and I were on our way to Bangkal, Makati to interview another Ganador contest winner when we stumbled upon this little eatery called E. Li Bulalo Express. Our stomachs grumbled saying that they want to be fed! So, we decided to eat there.
There we were, clutching our stomachs in agony, and looking at the menu on what to eat. Finally, we’ve chosen something from the menu! We decided to buy their famous beef bulalo, some ampalaya, and two bottles of mountain dew (Sir Air only wanted some water).
We waited for a bit. Then the food arrived. What greeted us were steaming bowls of beef bulalo topped with fresh chinese cabbage (pechay baguio). The staff also served us a serving of ampalaya. As an added benefit, they also added three bowls of broth for free!
The ampalaya was good. It’s not the best, but is stil good. It’s too bitter though. The beef bulalo on the other hand was YUMMY! The broth was just at the right saltiness. The beef was not too hard to chew. The smell was amazing. You can definitely say that it’s an authentic beef bulalo. Lastly, the vegetables are fresh and still crunchy. I can honestly say that our lunch was great!
The eatery itself looked spartan with the minimalist style of decorating. There’s a painting here, letters spelling BULALO there, and a big menu board of all their available food. To be honest, there is nothing to be impressed about the eatery’s deco but they more than make up for it with their delicious food!
So if you’re in the neighborhood of Bangkal, Makati, consider getting breakfast, lunch, or dinner at E. Li Bulalo Express. I’m sure that you’ll love it as much as I did!
The eatery is located at the 16 Evangelista Cor. Cailles St., Makati City
