It’s a brand new year, that means new sneakers are expected! For y’all sneakerheads out there, let’s check out below on what to keep an eye this year.
Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 270 React
The upcoming Travis Scott’s Air Max 270 React collaboration was revealed recently on the leaked photos, though it has not yet been announced when will be the official release. The sneakers themselves flip the shoe’s upper with a retro-like wave pattern and gold, soiled midsole which combines for a pre-distressed look. The combination of materials and details are also worth mentioning, which include suede, mesh, and a new toggle lace system.
Dior x Air Jordan
The most hyped kicks on the list, designed by Kim Jones of Dior. One of his newest collection. It was produced in Italy and features Dior’s signature oblique pattern on the Swoosh, among a myriad of other details included a hidden Dior-stamped footbed. Only 1,000 pairs are expected to drop at select Dior stores this spring (March-June) for a retail price of $40,000. (that’s ₱2,000.000.00!). The pair is set to release in April.
Tom Sachs x Nike Mars Yard 2.0
It was originally released in 2012 with a limited number of pairs. Designed with the idea of walking on the surface of the red planet, the Mars Yard 2.0 was crafted by American contemporary artist Tom Sachs and released in extremely limited quantity in during the summer of 2017. This 2020, Tom Sachs x Nike Mars Yard 2.0 will be released once again sometime during the spring season (March-June). Keep your heads up!
Adidas Yeezy Quantum
The Yeezy Mafia shared new details regarding Kanye West’s most anticipated basketball shoe. It was confirmed that the style will be named as Yeezy Quantum and will be available in both on-court and lifestyle version. Rumored to drop during NBA All-Star Weekend. Perfect drop for the Star-studded weekend!
Off-White x Air Jordan V
Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Air Jordan V, Off-white CEO Virgil Abloh will keep up his partnership with Nike/Jordan brand into 2020 with an upcoming Off-white x Air Jordan V colorway. This time it’s a different style, not the same “The Ten” approach fans have become used to. Virgil Abloh’s ongoing collaboration with Nike will continue this spring with a new Air Jordan model, but it’s not quite the same “The Ten” approach fans have become used to. Release date will be in April!
Sacai x Nike LDV Waffle
In collaboration with Japanese high-fashion label Sacai, designer Chitose Abe fused two iconic Nike shoes for a hybrid, double-themed design. This is one of the biggest stories in the sneaker world in 2019. So expect to see the hype drizzle into 2020! This time around, the exaggerated sneakers are expected to drop in monochrome all-black and all-white looks. Though it’s not yet confirmed. The hyped kicks are expected to drop next month!
Air Jordan ‘New Beginnings’ Pack
Jordan Brand will be celebrating Micheal Jordan’s earliest days with an upcoming “New Beginnings” Pack that consists of the 1984 Nike Air Ship PE and the 1985 Air Jordan 1 in its original high-top form. The pack represents the original “banned” sneaker that has been the source of much debate over the years. Watch out as this Retro J’s will be out by next month (February)!
Originally spotted on the feet of Kanye West’s daughter North earlier this year. Similar to Crocs, it has a slip-on style and plastic foam texture. It’s Futuristic design and experimental designs were designed by Steve Smith. The Adidas Yeezy Foam Runner will be debuting this 2020, though there is no specific date yet the pair is reportedly set at $75 (around ₱3,800).
Travis Scott x Nike SB Dunk Low
After appearing in his Jakcboys music video only a few days ago, it’s no surprise that the first leak of Travis Scott‘s forthcoming Nike SB Dunk Low has started rising to the surface, likely simmering in the pot for a long, long time — possibly ever since La Flame got into the silhouette himself months ago. Details are still up in the air, but the shoe appears to use a mixture of plaid and paisley patterns paired with rope-style shoelaces.
Sean Wotherspoon x Atmos x Asics Gel-Lyte III
After ending his partnership with Nike, Sean Wotherspoon is continuing to ride his multicolor corduroy wave, this time getting some help from Atmos on the Asics Gel-Lyte III. It’s still early, but based on teasers, the shoes will feature interchangeable Velcro branding among other details.
This version of the Gel Lyte III features multicolored corduroy panels with its signature split tongue. ASICS’ side stripes in Red and Yellow are removable completed with the atmos branding on the heel of the left shoe. As of now, release details weren’t provided, but you can check out the additional photos below. Stay tuned for more updates to come.
