MANILA, Philippines — After a decade away from primetime television, James Reid says returning to acting has given him a renewed appreciation for the craft, especially with his upcoming teleserye Someone, Someday alongside Kathryn Bernardo.
Speaking during a recent media conference, Reid admitted that his latest project feels different from his previous television work, describing the experience as both refreshing and creatively fulfilling.

The actor shared that working with Bernardo has been one of the highlights of the project, saying their on-screen partnership has allowed him to rediscover the joy of acting. Reid noted that the overall experience has been unlike anything he has done before, adding that the production and the people involved have made the journey more meaningful.
Reid also expressed excitement over portraying a more mature role, saying he has embraced the opportunity to challenge himself as an actor. He said the series has reminded him why he fell in love with acting in the first place.

The upcoming romantic drama marks Reid’s first teleserye in 10 years, following his last television series in 2016. While he has remained active in music, film, and entrepreneurship, the actor said now felt like the perfect time to return to television.
“I think now is the right time,” Reid said, explaining that he wanted to wait until he found a project and a character that genuinely inspired him. He added that after focusing on other aspects of his career over the past several years, he now feels ready to fully commit to acting once again.

Reid also credited the production team for creating an environment that encourages creativity and collaboration, saying the project has been an enjoyable experience from the start.
Someone, Someday pairs Reid with Bernardo for the first time on television. The series, directed by Chad Vidanes and Dolly Dulu, also stars Maja Salvador and is set to premiere on July 27 on Kapamilya Channel’s Primetime Bida
