Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has officially turned over a locally manufactured Mitsubishi L300 unit to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), marking a significant step in strengthening the agency’s operational mobility. This donation is specifically aimed at supporting the BFP’s rapid response capabilities during fires and other emergency situations across the CALABARZON region. By providing a vehicle known for its durability and generous payload capacity, MMPC aims to ensure that frontline responders are equipped with reliable transport that can perform under the most demanding field conditions.

The turnover ceremony, held at the MMPC plant in Santa Rosa, Laguna, was led by MMPC President and CEO Ritsu Imaeda and Chairman Noriaki Hirakata. During the event, Imaeda emphasized the vital role the BFP plays in safeguarding lives and communities, noting that as a local manufacturer, MMPC takes great pride in seeing vehicles produced in the Philippines contribute directly to public service. The L300, a staple of Filipino roads, was selected for its compact design and proven track record in logistics and speedy deployment, making it an ideal fit for the BFP’s diverse operational requirements.

Fire Senior Superintendent Douglas Guiyab, Assistant Regional Director for Operation of BFP Region 4A, expressed profound gratitude for the donation, highlighting the strong partnership between the private sector and public safety agencies. He assured that the new unit would be utilized effectively to enhance emergency services for the people of Laguna and surrounding provinces. This initiative not only supports public safety but also underscores the importance of the local automotive manufacturing sector in contributing to national resilience and community service.
