Last Saturday, March 28, MNLToday.ph was invited as one of the media partners for the 5th anniversary celebration of P-pop group Alamat, held at the NHCP Presidential Car Museum.
Unlike most anniversary events organized by agencies, this celebration was a fan-led gathering prepared by the group’s dedicated fandom, known as the Magiliws. From the moment guests arrived, it was clear that the fans had poured immense effort into creating a memorable experience for both attendees and the group.

The event began at 10 a.m., and even before entering the venue, visitors were greeted by a custom jeepney parked in front of the museum. What made the vehicle stand out was its striking design featuring the faces of ALAMAT members MO, Taneo, R-Ji, Jao, Tomas, and Alas, along with the title of their latest album, DE5TINO. The colorful tribute immediately set the tone for the celebration.

Upon entering the venue, attendees were welcomed by a festive setup rarely seen at the museum. Food and merch stalls lined the area. Organizers shared that meals and snacks were free for everyone attending the event. A free coffee to be exact as it is also the 25th birthday of the member, Alas. For many visitors, including this writer, who had visited the museum before, it was a refreshing transformation of the historic space. A large stage equipped with monitors was set up for program segments and discussions.
Walking around the venue, fans could also see dedicated display walls honoring each ALAMAT member. The exhibits showcased photos, messages, and decorations created by the Magiliws, highlighting the deep connection between the group and their supporters. The displays were not only creative but also impressively organized.

Throughout the day, fans and attendees listened to discussions on stage covering various topics related to ALAMAT’s music and creative process. Speakers explored the group’s diverse musical influences, how their songs are developed, and the stories behind their tracks. The conversations reflected the group’s commitment to blending Filipino culture with contemporary pop sounds.
Media representatives were also invited to observe a meet-and-greet session between ALAMAT and their fans. During the interaction, the members showed their warm and approachable personalities. They greeted each group with genuine smiles, easily started conversations, and treated their supporters like old friends meeting again after a long time. Fans were able to take photos, exchange handshakes, and even pose for group pictures with the members.

The celebration also featured live performances from the group, delighting fans who had gathered to commemorate the milestone. ALAMAT performed some of their well-loved songs including LuzViminda, kbye, Hapag, Pangako (Sa Puso Mo), and Yugto. The performances energized the crowd, with Magiliws singing along and cheering as the group delivered their hits on stage.
Following the fan meet and performances, ALAMAT took the stage to address the attendees. The members expressed their surprise and heartfelt appreciation for the effort put in by their Magiliws in organizing the celebration. They shared how touched they were by the dedication of their fandom and assured everyone that this milestone would not be the last.
The group also hinted that future anniversaries could become even bigger, possibly taking place in larger venues as their community continues to grow.

Beyond the performances and activities, what stood out most during the event was the strong sense of community that ALAMAT and their fans have built together. The volunteers, organizers, and supporters demonstrated remarkable dedication in celebrating the group’s journey.
As ALAMAT continues to grow in the P-pop scene, moments like this highlight not just their musical achievements but also the powerful bond they share with their fans. And if this fifth anniversary celebration is any indication, both the group and their Magiliws are only getting started.
Many are already looking forward to witnessing their journey in the years to come — perhaps even celebrating their 10th anniversary together.
