KAWIT, Cavite — The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), in partnership with the Municipal Government of Kawit, commemorates the 157th birth anniversary of revolutionary leader General Baldomero Aguinaldo on February 27, 2026, at his shrine in Kawit, Cavite.
The ceremony begins with a flag-raising and wreath-laying rites at the Museo ni Baldomero Aguinaldo, followed by the offering of flowers and the blessing of the general’s resting place.


Kawit Mayor Cynthia G. Aguinaldo, represented by Special Assistant to the Mayor Debbie Pulido, serves as guest of honor and leads the commemorative rites. Joining the ceremony are NHCP Deputy Executive Director for Programs and Projects Alvin R. Alcid; Philippine National Police officials PMAJ Rosalino E. Panlaqui and PLTCOL Kristine V. Paras; Vice Mayor Angelo Emilio Aguinaldo, represented by Councilors Rosell Arellano and Angelica Pulido; Department of Education – Kawit Schools Division Superintendent Rolando P. Talon, Ph.D.; Kawit Liga ng mga Barangay President Councilor Dave Lontoc, represented by barangay officials and staff of Barangay Manggahan-Lawin; and representatives from the Aguinaldo family.

Rev. Fr. Renn Danyer T. Malia, parish priest of St. Michael the Archangel Parish of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente in Binakayan, Kawit, leads the blessing of the tomb.
Born on February 27, 1869, in Binakayan, Kawit, Baldomero Aguinaldo y Baloy plays a significant role in the Philippine Revolution. He leads the Magdalo faction of the Katipunan in Cavite alongside his cousin, General Emilio Aguinaldo.

In 1897, he is appointed Director of Finance and becomes a signatory to the Constitution of Biak-na-Bato. During the establishment of the First Philippine Republic in 1899, he serves as Secretary of War and Public Works and continues to take part in the fight during the Philippine-American War.
After the war, Aguinaldo retires from active military service but remains active in supporting fellow revolutionaries as president of the Asociación de los Veteranos de la Revolución. He passes away on February 21, 1915, due to heart failure.
Today, his ancestral home in Kawit is administered by the NHCP as the Museo ni Baldomero Aguinaldo, serving as a reminder of his contributions to the country’s struggle for independence.
