Japanese broadcasters Fuji TV and Tokai TV, in partnership with China’s streaming giant bilibili, have officially announced a live-action television adaptation of the hit Chinese donghua Link Click (时光代理人), a mystery-drama series with a strong global fanbase.
The drama — one of Fuji TV’s first major international co-produced terrestrial dramas — is scheduled to debut in Japan on April 11, 2026, and will run for 10 episodes through June 13, 2026. This collaboration marks an important step in Fuji TV’s strategy to expand its global presence and create content that resonates across borders.
Based on the original Link Click donghua — a Chinese animated series produced by Studio LAN that first aired in 2021 and has since become a worldwide phenomenon — the story centers on two time-traveling partners who solve clients’ mysteries by entering photographs.

The live-action cast features Taiki Sato and Kanata Hongo in the lead roles as Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang, respectively. The pair will bring to life the dynamic at the heart of the series: Xiaoshi’s ability to travel through time via old photographs and Lu Guang’s skill in tracking events as they unfold, a partnership that balances tense supernatural stakes with emotional character drama.
Veteran director Hiroaki Yuasa — known for his work on Ultraman and other major Japanese dramas — is directing the project, with Atsuhiro Tomioka, celebrated for his involvement in major anime productions like One Piece, serving as series composer.
So far, the production has released early character visuals, but a full promotional trailer has not yet been unveiled, leaving fans eagerly anticipating more details in the coming weeks.

The adaptation arrives as Link Click continues to build momentum ahead of the third season of the original animation, further solidifying its cross-medium appeal.
Overall, this live-action series aims to capture the blend of mystery, emotion and supernatural intrigue that made the original donghua a standout title on international streaming platforms.
