BTS member Jin marked his birthday this year with a major philanthropic gesture, donating 100 million South Korean won — more than ₱4 million — to support underprivileged children and young adults in his hometown of Busan.
The Busan Namgwang Social Welfare Society confirmed that the donation was made ahead of Jin’s birthday on December 4, extending support to two major programs focused on youth development. A portion of the funds will go to educational scholarships for children from low-income families, while a significant share will support the “Self-Reliant Youth Support Program,” which helps young adults who have aged out of childcare institutions transition to independent living.

According to the welfare society, Jin expressed that he wanted his birthday to be meaningful not only for himself but also for those who need assistance. His contribution is expected to help beneficiaries with educational needs, housing stability, and job readiness — crucial aspects for young people starting life without guardians.
The donation comes at a high point in Jin’s career. His solo track, Don’t Say You Love Me, was recently recognized as the most-streamed K-pop song of 2025 on Spotify, according to #SpotifyWrapped. The milestone underscores Jin’s growing influence not just as a member of BTS but as a solo artist making waves worldwide.

This latest act of charity adds to Jin’s growing list of philanthropic efforts. The BTS member, who released his second solo album Echo in May, has consistently used his platform to advocate for youth welfare and humanitarian causes. Fans and charitable groups in South Korea praised the donation, highlighting how Jin’s influence continues to inspire positive action within and beyond the BTS community.
As BTS members resume group activities following the completion of their military service, Jin’s birthday donation stands as another reminder of the group’s tradition of giving back. His gesture not only brings attention to the challenges faced by vulnerable youth but also underscores the impact of celebrity philanthropy in mobilizing public awareness and support.
