MANILA — The Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) wrapped up its planned three‑day anti-corruption protest a day early, ending the gathering on Monday after a massive crowd assembled at Luneta Park.
According to INC spokesperson Edwil Zabala, the group said that their objectives — calling for “justice, accountability, transparency, and peace” — were met within the first two days, making the third day unnecessary.

By 5 p.m. on Monday, the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office estimated about 550,000 people had gathered at the Quirino Grandstand. Meanwhile, earlier reports from Sunday said the rally drew up to 650,000 participants.
The protest, launched by the INC, framed itself as a moral—not political—appeal, demanding transparency and accountability in connection with alleged corruption in flood-control projects. According to the group, the rally was not intended to destabilize the government.

Security remained tight throughout the event. Organizers assembled tents, and some participants reportedly camped overnight in the grandstand area.
As the rally concluded, the INC reiterated that their goal was to press for concrete reforms, not to bring down any political figures.
