Filipino standup comedian and impersonator Gil Aducal Morales, widely known as Ate Gay, has shared an encouraging update on her ongoing battle with Stage 4 mucoepidermoid squamous cell carcinoma, a rare form of cancer. The comedian recently took to social media to express her profound gratitude and relief as her tumor has shown a dramatic reduction in size following the start of her treatment.
Ate Gay first disclosed her diagnosis in September, revealing that what she initially mistook for a case of mumps turned out to be a malignant tumor on her neck. Her journey took a hopeful turn when an anonymous benefactor, whom she affectionately calls her “angel,” stepped forward to shoulder the substantial costs of her chemotherapy and radiation therapy at a major hospital. This generosity allowed her to commence the intensive treatment plan immediately.

The most exciting news came days into her regimen. Ate Gay shared that the lump had rapidly shrunk from 10 centimeters to 8.5 centimeters in just three days, demonstrating an immediate positive response to the treatment. She shared her feelings of blessing and deep appreciation on her Facebook page, thanking everyone who has been praying for her recovery.

With continued treatment, the positive trend has persisted. Ate Gay recently posted a video showing that the lump on her neck has visibly shrunk even further, commenting that it is now “konting-konti na lang” (only a little bit left). Her courage in documenting this challenging health fight has inspired fans and fellow celebrities alike, underscoring the power of community support and faith in her path toward healing.
