The “Aces of P-Pop,” BGYO, consisting of members Gelo, Akira, JL, Mikki, and Nate, achieved a major career milestone as they successfully staged their first-ever major solo concert, “BGYO Now,” at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City. The sold-out show, held after years of anticipation from their dedicated fanbase, the ACEs, was an emotional and energetic display of the group’s evolution, musicality, and endurance.
The concert commenced with a high-octane set, featuring their infectious dance hits “Gigil,” “Trash,” and “Divine,” immediately setting a frenzied pace for the audience. The dynamic LED stage and production elements amplified the energy, guiding the crowd through a journey of the group’s music since their 2021 debut. Reflecting on the monumental evening, group leader Gelo shared his gratitude, saying the members felt “sobrang grateful and sobrang proud” of everyone who had been part of their journey since the beginning.

A significant highlight of the night was the showcase of their individual talents. Each member delivered a unique solo performance, demonstrating their distinct musical styles and personalities. The group performed tracks from their latest effort, the Headlines EP, including the upbeat title track and the velvety smooth singles “Dance With Me” and “Aloe Vera,” alongside their earlier career-defining hits like “The Light.” They even paid homage to their roots with a high-energy medley of Sarah Geronimo’s “Tala” and “Kilometro,” songs they first performed as Star Hunt Academy trainees.

The connection between the group and their fans was palpable throughout the show. One of the most unforgettable moments came during the performance of their hit “All These Ladies,” when five female fans were brought onto the stage and serenaded by the boys, making the experience deeply personal. The concert culminated in a surprise interactive moment where the members visited all sections of the venue, including the Loge and Balcony areas, to personally thank and interact with the ACEs, further amplifying the celebratory atmosphere inside the theater. For member JL, the success of the show could be perfectly summarized in a hashtag: #BGYO_blessed, underscoring the love and support they felt from their community.
