LONDON — British pop star Jess Glynne has met the woman behind one of the internet’s most unexpected viral sensations—the voice from the now-famous Jet2 Holidays advert.

The surprise introduction happened live on Capital FM’s breakfast show, where Glynne came face to face with Zoë Lister, the former Hollyoaks actress and voiceover artist responsible for the cheery line, “Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday.” Glynne, clearly delighted by the moment, laughed and exclaimed: “This is mad!” as the two recreated the viral catchphrase together.
The advert, which paired Glynne’s 2015 hit “Hold My Hand” with Lister’s upbeat delivery, has taken on a life of its own in recent months. On TikTok, the jingle has become the soundtrack of summer—ironically set against videos of travel mishaps, chaotic holiday clips, and tongue-in-cheek memes. To date, the sound has been used in over a million posts, turning what began as a straightforward airline campaign into a global internet phenomenon.
Lister, who joined Jet2’s advertising campaigns in 2019, said she was stunned by the attention. Best known for playing Zoe Carpenter in Hollyoaks before moving into scriptwriting and voice work, she revealed her role in the campaign earlier this year—shocking fans who had assumed the voice belonged to other celebrities. “This has gone global,” Lister admitted in a TikTok post. “I’ve been getting DMs left, right and centre.”
Jet2 itself has leaned into the trend, even launching a TikTok challenge that offered a £1,000 holiday voucher for the most creative take on the meme. Marketing experts have since praised the airline for embracing the viral energy rather than shying away from it.
But the meme’s lighthearted appeal hit a controversial snag when the White House used the sound in a social media post about deportations. The video was captioned: “When ICE books you a one-way Jet2 holiday… nothing beats it!” The move drew swift backlash—including from Glynne herself, who condemned the use of her song in a political context. “This post honestly makes me sick,” she wrote on Instagram. “My music is about love, unity, and spreading positivity—not division or hate.”
From radio airwaves to TikTok feeds, the Jet2 jingle has unexpectedly brought together two very different talents—Jess Glynne and Zoë Lister—and turned a catchy holiday advert into a defining cultural moment of 2025.
