In celebration of Buwan ng Kasaysayan (History Month) this August, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) kicks off its flagship event HistoEx 2025 — a three-day interactive history festival from August 1 to 3, held at Quantum Skyview, Gateway Mall 2, Araneta City.

Bearing this year’s theme, “Diwa ng Kasaysayan, Kabilin sa Kabataan” (Spirit of History, Heritage for the Youth), the event aims to ignite historical awareness and pride among the younger generation by offering a meaningful blend of education, culture, and fun.
A History Holiday Like No Other
Branded as a “His2Holiday,” HistoEx 2025 transforms historical learning into an immersive experience with activities that include:
- Lectures & Talks by renowned historians and educators
- Interactive Games and history-themed challenges
- Cultural Performances & Reenactments that bring pivotal moments in Philippine history to life
- Exhibits, shops, and a book sale featuring historical merchandise, rare prints, and local publications

The festival is a collaborative effort among NHCP, Araneta City, Gateway Gallery, the Philippine Muslim History & Heritage, and other cultural institutions. The event also highlights the ongoing Dekada ng Kasaysayan ng Pilipinas (2023–2033), a decade-long initiative to mainstream history in public consciousness.
Heritage in the Hands of the Youth
NHCP emphasizes that August was declared as History Month through Proclamation No. 339, s. 2012, to strengthen Filipinos’ understanding of our historical journey. The 2025 theme underscores the role of the youth as stewards of the nation’s collective memory — a timely reminder as the country navigates the challenges of modernization and cultural preservation.
“This is more than just a celebration. It is a call to action — to remember, to learn, and to pass on,” the NHCP said in a statement.
